About me
Tanja Paar was born and raised in Croatia, a small and beautiful European country. Her spiritual search started in early childhood; through books, reading, and contemplating life. That search led her to yoga, meditation, and later on to Vedic astrology, also known as Jyotish, which has been her greatest passion and love in life.
By education, she is an electrical engineer with over 20 years of working experience in the fields of information technology, banking, and project management. Due to her inclination to work with people, she has been serving as an English teacher in the United Arab Emirates and Spain for the last five years.
She started studying classical Parashara Jyotish in 2007 with Croatian teacher Adrian Kezele. After that she continued studying online with her dear Jyotish and Hatha yoga teacher from Uruguay, Krishna Darshan, who helped her to prepare for her first certification. In 2010, she was certified at the basic Level 1 through the American College of Vedic Astrology (ACVA). Since then, she has continued her studies with several other teachers, as well as on her own, developing her potential in terms of technical knowledge of Jyotish, and also diving deeper into her natural intuitive powers.
In 2010, Tanja was also certified as a Hatha Yoga teacher through the Sivananda lineage in Grass Valley, California. Meditation and spiritual practice are a mandatory part of her daily routine. She is a vegetarian and deeply believes in the yogic principle of ahimsa—non-violence towards animals and all sentient beings on Earth.
She studied online in 2016 with well-known Indian born Jyotish teacher Komilla Sutton and obtained Level 2 certification with her Academy of Vedic Studies. She is presently deepening her knowledge of a complementary branch of Jyotish called Jaimini with her teacher Marc Boney, who is a direct disciple of the legendary Indian Jyotishi K.N.Rao.
The Vedic sciences of Yoga, Vedic astrology, and Ayurveda are connected sister sciences which offer her an inexhaustible source of knowledge about life, health, and well-being, especially during these challenging times on Earth.
Tanja loves to travel and lived several years in San Francisco, California and in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. She currently lives in the beautiful town of Alicante in southeastern Spain.
Tanja’s goal is to help people become aware of their karmic tendencies, to prepare them for the challenges and opportunities which they will encounter on their journey, and to support them as they live their best life. She believes that Jyotish, which is the Sanskrit word for light, acts as a powerful lamp which illuminates the path of spiritual growth and self-knowledge.

MISSION
It is my mission to translate the symbolic and very often complex language of Vedic astrology into everyday, common language using real-life stories, blog entries, my own experiences, and those of my clients and friends.
I would also like to empower other women on their path of self-discovery and encourage them to use their maximum potential beyond the traditional role of wife and mother that is very often imposed upon them by society.
VISION
My vision is to establish heartfelt relationships with my clients and blog-readers from all over the world, serving as a bridge between the symbolism of their birth charts and their actual lives. I wish to be a source of light, encouragement, and guidance in a world which can often be stressful and challenging.
